Arm Lift in Turkey

A decline in skin flexibility is inevitable due to aging, weight gain, and loss. As individuals age, the structure and shape of elastic and collagen fibers in the body deteriorate and the subcutaneous fat layer decreases. As a result, the body tissue loosens and sags. When these sags occur in the arm area, they can be treated with an arm lift.

Arm Lift Surgery in Istanbul:

Due to aging, intermittent weight loss, and gravity, sagging and tears occur in the back and inner parts of the arm. The amount of fatty tissue that accumulates during sagging shows individual differences. Therefore, each patient should be assessed individually.

An arm lift surgery (brachioplasty) can be performed alone or in combination with other lifting surgeries such as tummy tuck, breast reduction/enlargement or breast lift, and liposuction. When an arm lift is combined with liposuction, much better results can be achieved. In this way, both the subcutaneous fat tissue is more thinned out and more skin is removed.

Where do scars form after an upper arm lift?

During the preoperative evaluation, attention is paid to the amount of fat tissue on the inside and back of the arm as well as the degree of sagging. In addition, the patient receives detailed information about the location of the scar that will form after the operation. In an upper arm lift, the scar remains on the inside of the arm and in the area near the armpit. These areas are the least visible from the outside. Sometimes, in cases where there is not much sagging, the scars can be limited only to the armpit area.

If the skin quality is good and there is no sagging, only a fat removal procedure may be sufficient. However, if there is sagging skin with excess fat tissue, a tightening operation is absolutely necessary.

After an arm lift surgery:

An upper arm lift is performed under general anesthesia. The sagging skin and excess fat tissue on the inside and back of the arm are removed. In the same operation, if necessary, liposuction may also be performed in other areas of the arm. The incision is sutured in two layers and at the end of the operation, the arm is wrapped in a soft bandage. Patients can return to their daily activities after 10 days, and the stitches heal in about 10 days. After the arm lift surgery, a corset should be worn for 1 month. This helps reduce swelling and allows the skin to adhere to the underlying tissue and shrink. The surgical scar begins to fade after 1 month.
