Breast Implant Surgery in Turkey

Breasts are one of the most important elements of beauty and self-confidence for women. Breast size and shape can be affected by growth delays, sagging of the breast tissue due to changes such as pregnancy and breastfeeding.

In such cases, it is possible to create fuller, larger, aesthetically pleasing, projected breasts through surgical procedures such as breast augmentation. This procedure can be performed using the most appropriate silicone breast implants.

Breast augmentation surgery is the process of enlarging the breast volume with breast implants that are placed either under the breast tissue or under the muscle tissue. This procedure can be applied to structurally small breasts, asymmetries, size differences, or sagging breasts after childbirth.

After the examination for breast augmentation surgery, the plastic surgeon determines and informs the patient about other variables that may influence the decisions regarding the operation, such as the skin that covers the chest, the presence of breast tissue, its volume, and whether it is sagging. In cases where the breasts are obviously sagging, the plastic surgeon may also recommend a method that reduces and reshapes the breast skin, namely a breast lift surgery.

Breast augmentation surgery approaches:

There are different surgical approaches to breast augmentation. The most commonly used technique is the incision of the inframammary fold. This area provides the best entry incision, where the operative field can be best observed, bleeding can be easily controlled, and the scar is hidden and therefore invisible.

Decision on the desired breast size:
One of the most important questions for patients undergoing breast augmentation surgery is deciding on the size of the newly formed breast. Patients who are seeking aesthetic breast augmentation surgery typically have difficulty describing the size of the breast they wish to achieve. They often mention the desired cup size or bra size.

The aesthetic surgeon should listen to the patient’s desires and expectations, take body measurements, and select the size of the silicone breast implants according to their own body measurements. After examining and understanding our patients’ expectations, our surgeons determine the appropriate dimensions that will suit them.

Placement of silicone in breast augmentation surgery:

Silicone implants are placed either over or under the chest muscle during breast augmentation. Ideally, the implant should not be visible or palpable through the skin.

If there is enough tissue, placing the implant above the chest muscle and below the breast gland is the best choice. However, if there is insufficient breast tissue, the implant is usually placed under the chest muscle to prevent the implant from being visible or palpable due to a lack of tissue. This provides the best possible coverage for the silicone implant.

After Breast Augmentation Surgery

The recovery period following a breast augmentation surgery typically lasts for about 1-3 hours, depending on the extent of the operation and the presence of any asymmetry. Following the procedure, a small dressing is applied to the breasts, and a compression bra is worn. Mild pain can be effectively managed with medication and usually subsides within the first or second day.

Swelling is expected for about a week, but gradually decreases over time, resulting in a softer breast texture and the formation of a natural-looking inframammary fold.

The stitches used in the procedure are absorbable and will dissolve within a week.
