What is Vaser Liposuction?

Vaser liposuction, also known as Vaserlipo or Vaser liposelection, is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that uses ultrasound technology to selectively remove unwanted fat from specific areas of the body.

During the procedure, a small incision is made in the skin and a small probe is inserted into the targeted area. The probe emits high-frequency sound waves that selectively break up and liquefy fat cells, which are then removed through a small tube inserted through the same incision.

Unlike traditional liposuction, which can be more invasive and may cause more trauma to surrounding tissues, Vaser liposuction is designed to target fat cells specifically, leaving other tissues intact. This can result in less swelling, bruising, and discomfort during the recovery period.

Vaser liposuction can be used to treat a variety of areas on the body, including the abdomen, thighs, hips, arms, and back and as well as for the treatment of lipedema.

It is the most effective method worldwide, as it preserves the surrounding tissue and does not damage the lymphatic vessels in lipedema patients. The efficient removal of fat from this area and the protection of vascular structures make the postoperative phase pleasant and allow for a quick return to daily activities.

It is an effective method for treating fat removal under the chin (jowlette) and gynecomastia.

Vaser Lipo is used for high-definition (Hi-Def) procedures in patients who regularly exercise and want to highlight their body details. Thinning the subcutaneous fat tissue to the desired extent makes the muscle details (six-packs) stand out. The areas most commonly shaped for women are the waist and hips. With the Vaser Lipo application, during the fat removal, muscles or facial or body contours are simultaneously sculpted, making the existing lines more distinct and visible.

Differences from traditional liposuction:

Vaser Lipo uses ultrasound waves to break down fat and suction it out in a liquid form, which prevents the lumpy surface appearance often seen after traditional liposuction. Unlike other methods, Vaser Lipo targets only fat cells, leaving important tissues such as connective tissue, blood vessels, and nerves undamaged.

Patients experience much less pain, bruising, and swelling compared to other methods, allowing for a quicker return to daily activities.

Since Vaser Lipo uses ultrasound waves to remove fat, the harvested fat and stem cells remain undamaged and can be used for fat injections in other parts of the body if desired.

Where is Vaser liposuction applied?

It can be applied anywhere where unwanted fat accumulates. Inner thigh, outer thigh, hips, inner knee, back, abdomen, waist and chest and cheeks are examples of these areas.

What to Consider After Vaser Liposuction?

After Vaser liposuction treatment, a quick recovery follows. The postoperative phase is relatively uncomplicated, as there are only minimal pain, swelling, and bruising compared to other methods such as traditional liposuction. Most patients can return to their normal activities within a few days.

In the first few weeks after the operation, it is important to wear special compression garments to reduce swelling and support rapid healing. Physical exertion and sports activities should also be avoided for a few weeks to not affect the healing process.

Typically, it takes about 2-3 months for the final result to be visible, as the swelling subsides completely during this time.
